Book Club, The Gita

These sessions are great for anyone who is curious about the history of the Bhagavad Gita and the ancient teachings it encompasses. For those who would like to read along, we will be using the translation by Eknath Easwaran, however you do not have to read the book in order to participate.

The questions we will be trying to answer include:

  • What is the Bhagavad Gita and how is it intertwined with the history of Yoga?

  • What are the the broad teachings of the book?

  • Are these ancient teachings applicable to modern day life?

  • These sessions will start with a summary of a few chapters, and then everyone is invited to participate in a discussion.

  • Jan 4th (Introduction + Chapter 1)

  • Jan 18th (Chapters 2-5)

  • Feb 1st (Chapters 6-9)

  • Feb 15th (Chapters 10-12)

  • March 1st (Chapters 13-15)

  • March 15th (Chapters 16-18)

Each session will be from 12:00-2:00pm

at Edge Yoga School located at 525 87th Street in South Naperville.
